Over 160 commercial requests for drone operations have been made, out of those 160+ requests, only 13 have been approved. With just a shade under 10% approval, congress has begun to breathe down the neck of the FAA as the Federal Aviation Administration has clearly lagged in their process of establishing a clear and concise set of rules for commercial utilization of drone operations.
With four more companies receiving clearance to utilize drones commercially, we can definitely chalk this one up as a win and step in the right direction.
